Nungwi Zanzibar – If someone ask me which is my favourite place in the world to go on holiday to… It would be Nungwi Zanzibar. We where lucky enough to be honeymooning their in February 2014.
The tropical island has turquoise, clear, warm salty water, which makes it perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving. The weather was just perfect, later in the afternoon there would be a breeze that comes up to cool you down, and this also make it ideal spot for kite suffers.
Our typical day would start with, my husband waking up at the break of dawn to reserve us the best beach cabana seats for the day, then a delicious breakfast. Afterwards we would take a stroll and when its low tide, you can walk for up to a 1km into the seaside.
We also went on a 1-day excursion. We got to see the oldest turtles in the world and the city of Zanzibar and also took a spice tour, which was well worth it. But I have to say my highlight of the holiday day was THE ROCK RESTAURANT. We met up with some other honeymooners and spend the day admiring the view and indulging in the delicious food and drinks. It just the cutest place with the friendliest people. By the time we left, it was high tide and we were escorted of the little island restaurant by a rowboat back to shore.
