Ras Al Khaimah Weekend Break Away – Marhabba (Welcome) to all! A couple of weeks ago I did FRANCESKA & MARTIN’S ENGAGEMENT shoot in RAS AL KHAIMAH also know as RAK. RAK is about an hours drive from Dubai and as a last minute decision we decided to make it our first weekend break away. After some research, we choose our hotel and couldn’t wait for the weekend to arrive.

We stayed in the HILTON AL HAMRA BEACH & GOLF RESORT, which is conveniently located, close to RAK Mall, golf course and restaurants. The hotel has two temperature-controlled pools, private beach, jet ski renting and parasailing.

We spend our weekend either lying by the poolside or on the beach under the cabanas. The ocean is warm and clear and you can spend hours bobbing around in it. We also rented a Jet Ski, super fun and took a ride around Marjan Island. On the island are a couple of hotels & resorts, but mainly it still under development. As far as we know it will be one amazing holiday location once it’s completed! After sunset the relaxing continued at Trader Vic’s Mai Tai Lounge with cocktails and tapas. Be sure to try out one of their famous Mai Tai’s if you’re in the area.

As the weekend came to an end we took a drive through the town of RAK and ended up stumbling on Jebel Jais Mountain, it amazed us by its size. Jebel Jais is the tallest mountain in the UAE. Next time we will go and get a closer look and report back to you.

A little more info on RAK: A destination with year-round sunshine, sweeping white sandy beaches, soft adventure and world class resorts. Ras Al Khaimah, the northern most emirate of the UAE and located just 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport.

It’s a unique destination for visitors of all ages. With its 416,600 population the emirate boasts of beautiful mountains, red sandy desert and lush green plains along with a series of creeks and lagoons. It has a rich heritage dating back 5,000 years, which manifests in numerous historical sites, forts and abandoned villages. The Emirati culture is omnipresent in Ras Al Khaimah and you will be welcomed with the warm Arabic hospitality wherever you go.

With a wide range of activities covering Watersports, Sailing Cruises, Desert camps, Golf courses and Mountain Adventures, the emirate of RAK presents an ultimate outdoor experience for residents and visitors alike.  64 kilometres of coastline with crystal clear water and white sandy beaches are a heaven for all sun-seekers.

We really enjoy our Ras Al Khaimah Weekend Break Away and will definitely be back!
