Rimowa has established itself in the fashion world as the pre-eminent leader in luxury luggage – backed by high-profile collaborations with the likes of Anti Social Social Club, Supreme, Off-White, Ambush, and Fendi. The LVMH-owned brand is continuing to make its imprint on the world by cutting the ribbon on its first flagship store in Dubai on March 5.
The space will be situated on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall‘s Fashion Avenue, alongside brands Givenchy, Christian Louboutin, and Berluti. The new store joins a lineup of other Rimowa outposts in Japan, Paris, and London, among others.
The new flagship will feature 140 sqm of the brand’s entire collection, including the New Visual Identity Suitcases and accessories created in the likeness of its aluminum carryalls, luggage belts, wallets, and stickers, some of which were exclusively designed for the United Arab Emirates.
Alexandre Arnault, Rimowa’s CEO has been on a mission to revamp the 120-year-old label since taking the helm in January 2017. The decision to open a flagship in the UAE makes sense, considering that it’s home to one of the world’s busiest airports as well as the world’s biggest and most-visited mall.
The luxury brand has a loyal checklist of regional clients, including Dubai’s jet-setting It girls Rania Fawaz, Nour Arida, and Hala Abdullah, who collaborated with Rimowa on an editorial ahead of the hotly anticipated store opening.
