Sri Lanka Yoga & Surf Retreat | Santosha Society – Two years ago I met Kori from Santosha Society on Instagram and ever since that day, it was on the cards to capture one of her Yoga & Surf Retreats. November last year, very last minute we made it happen and I was over the moon to be able to join the next adventure in Sri Lanka. Imagine a beautiful beachfront villa, surrounded by palm trees, waking up at the crack of dawn for a sunrise yoga session, having a delicious healthy breakfast, heading off for a surf, a afternoon chill or explore the island, sunset meditation, and ending with the most delicious local Sri Lankan dinners and doing this with a bunch of amazing women for seven days.
Santosha Society organizes intimate boutique travel adventures for surf explorers, yoga lovers, and wanderlusters. We believe travel is more than just seeing a destination. It is learning from a new culture, indulging in exotic cuisine and experiencing vibrantly colorful locals. Our trips are to stunning destinations, eating amazing food, soaking in saltwater, relaxing and rejuvenating the mind, and at the same time connecting with lovely like-minded people. We want you to go home from a grand adventure with a greater sense of self and a calmer mind.
Santosha Society’s aim is to see the world in all of its glory while inspiring you at the same time. We want to offer you a experienced, quality yoga teacher with a thoughtful schedule of yoga, pranayama, meditations, and yoga nidra.
All trips are located at a world class surf destinations.
While not a surf camp, nor offering video analysis. We are a yoga escape located at a surfing paradise. If you dont surf, that just means you are guaranteed to have the pool to yourself some afternoons. If you are a beginner or just learning, we are happy to help you get started on your saltwater journey by organize surfing lessons with one of our favorite surf coaches at an additional cost. All of our coaches are local, freelance surf instructors, because we feel that is the most sustainable and ethical way to support the local economy.
But more importantly, the retreat organizer will be someone who knows the culture and spent quality time in the area. This means you will get first-hand advice on local healers, simple and luxury health treatments, the culture, religion and temples, and the best secret adventures.
By submerging yourself in rejuvenation and relaxation on the yoga mat for a week, you will reset your body and mind and feel healthier. By watching, soaking in and sliding on the ocean, you will connect with nature and feel happier. By experiencing the culture you will leave with confidence and gratitude. By surrounding yourself with fun-loving humans, you will be inspired. We have seen it happen over and over again. It is magic.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of this journey. I’ve learned somethings about myself, made some lifelong friends and had an incredible time, but hopefully, it’s not the last time you hear about Santosha here.
