Café Boulud Riyadh
Featuring a French culinary journey set in a vintage-inspired ambiance, Chef Daniel Boulud’s café offers timeless elegance, seasonal classics and modern creations that reflect his Lyon roots and passion for exquisite dining.
Raised on a farm near Lyon, France, Chef Boulud was steeped in French culinary traditions from a young age. His culinary journey began at 15 with an apprenticeship at a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Lyon, and by 17, he was recognized as a finalist for the Best Culinary Apprentice in France.
Since arriving in New York in 1982, Chef Boulud has established himself as one of America’s leading chefs, with his two-Michelin-starred restaurant Daniel and Café Boulud in New York. The Café Boulud brand – now with locations in Palm Beach, Toronto and the Bahamas – is especially meaningful to him, as it honours the original café started by his great-grandparents on their farm in Lyon.
Rockwell Group partnered with Four Seasons and Dinex Group to develop the Middle East debut of Daniel Boulud’s acclaimed Café Boulud. To capture the restaurant’s singular blend of contemporary elegance with old-world charm, Rockwell Group took inspiration from classic French brasseries and elegant, daylit conservatories. Natural light streams into the main dining area from a glass-enclosed sun room, bringing a golden radiance to accents of marble and brass. Lush greenery creates a tranquil, garden-like setting for Chef Boulud’s French fare.

A compressed hallway leads to one of the restaurant’s most distinctive features: a faceted, octagonal cheese tasting room. Stone niches contain backlit shelving for cheese, bread, wine, and other products, displayed like precious artifacts. Vaulted, mirrored ceilings reflect the warm glow from three jewelry-inspired bronze and alabaster pendants, along with bronze and stone display tables below.
Adjacent to the cheese display room is Julian, an exclusive private chef’s table and dining room, eponymously named after Chef Boulud’s son. The interior is a departure from the rest of the space: light green walls are inspired by Boulud’s home in Lyon.
