Leila Khalil
Set high above Dubai, with uninterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa and the Canal, her penthouse is a study in proportion, mood, and restraint. “We made sure the flow throughout the home was smooth and effortless,” she says—a philosophy reflected in the tactile calm of travertine, the quiet glow of brass, and a palette that lets the city’s skyline take center stage.
Every corner speaks to thoughtful intention: the soaring living area anchored by a chandelier suspended just-so; the private library, which she calls her favorite, where “earthy colors, varied textures, and evocative artwork come together to make the space special.” For Khalil, comfort is the cornerstone of beauty. “Elegance must always come with ease,” she says. “This balance is crucial for long-term livability.”
In an open concept home, the dining area becomes more than just a place to eat — it’s all about connection. Thoughtful design grounds the space, giving it purpose and presence amid the flow of daily life without overwhelming it and taking away too much attention from other equally important parts of the space. It’s where conversations linger, where meals become memories, and where the openness around it is shaped into warmth, rhythm, and meaning.
